In a 27-20 loss to the Cowboys, the Giants’ rookie star receiver Malik Nabers made an impact with eight catches for 69 yards. Nabers, who had expressed frustration in the previous game about not getting enough opportunities, was happy with his 13 targets despite adding his seventh drop of the season. Quarterback Tommy DeVito missed the game due to a forearm injury but expects to be back soon, as further testing showed no structural issues. Cornerback Deonte Banks was unexpectedly inactive against CeeDee Lamb, who had a relatively quiet game with two catches for 39 yards. The anticipated Banks-Lamb rematch did not happen, but Banks admitted fault for a previous touchdown Lamb had scored against him. Running back Devin Singletary started over Tyrone Tracy Jr. after Tracy had fumble troubles in recent games. Tracy ended up scoring a touchdown on the first drive for the Giants. Eric Gray fumbled a kickoff, his sixth fumble on 75 career touches. Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux committed two penalties that gifted first downs, and the Giants totalled 13 penalties in the game. Other inactives for the Giants included RT Jermaine Eluemunor, S Anthony Johnson, CB Tre Hawkins, and OL Jake Kubas. Despite the loss, the Giants plan to address areas needing improvement to come out stronger in future games.
