Police discover deceased individual on the rooftop of upscale NYC apartment complex


A man was found dead on the roof of a luxury apartment building in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Authorities believe he was in his 30s and was discovered unconscious and unresponsive on the 38-story residential building on West 57th Street near 11th Avenue. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his death is under investigation.

The high-rise building, known as Helena 57 West, features apartments ranging from $3,400 to $6,680 in rent and was designed by the award-winning firm Fox & Fowle. It was the first voluntary Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold-certified residential building in New York. The man’s identity has not been disclosed pending family notification. The circumstances of his death remain uncertain. His body was found near Pier 97 at Hudson River Park, a popular spot in the area.
