Despite sticking out in his festive costume, the Baltimore resident embraces the attention and aims to bring smiles to the faces of New Yorkers. “They always think, ‘Wow, that guy’s weird,'” he said. “If you want to be seen, come to New York.” Liberto’s mission is to spread positivity and the spirit of Christmas, documenting his journey on social media. He believes that the holiday season is about more than physical gift giving, but also about uplifting others. “It’s nice to be able to give something to people they can sit there and pass on to other people and pass their smiles on,” said Liberto.
