The New York Yankees are facing a 3-0 deficit against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, with Game 4 set to take place at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night. Ticket prices have cooled since the Yankees fell behind, with the average price of tickets dropping nine percent on StubHub’s resale market between Monday and Tuesday. The cheapest single tickets for Game 4 were around $500, a 20 percent drop from Monday.
Despite the decrease in prices for general admission tickets, demand for higher-end seats remained strong, reflecting super strong demand according to StubHub spokesperson Adam Budelli. The average ticket prices for the series ranged from $1,457 to $1,839 for Games 1-3. As of Tuesday morning, prices for the remaining games were included, with Game 6 potentially being the most expensive based on current trends.
StubHub saw a 30 percent increase in sales for Games 3-5 in New York over the weekend, likely due to decreased availability. The number of tickets sold for Game 4 jumped 26 percent on Monday, indicating continued high demand for the series. Budelli recommended purchasing tickets in advance due to potential price increases and mentioned that if Game 7 were to happen, it could be one of the highest-priced baseball games.
Overall, the World Series matchup between the Dodgers and Yankees has led to fluctuating ticket prices on the resale market, with high demand and the potential for record-breaking prices as the series continues.
