Former Vice President Mike Pence has started a new job teaching political science at Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He taught his first class alongside the college president and expressed excitement about the opportunity to educate future Christian leaders. Pence is the first to fill the role of Distinguished Fellow for Faith and Public Life at the college. Grove City College is a private Christian liberal arts school that does not accept federal funding. Pence joined Trump in Washington, D.C. after their election in 2016 but parted ways with him during the certification of the 2020 election results, which led to the siege of the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters on January 6, 2021. Despite this history, Pence was warmly welcomed by students during his visit to campus and expressed his appreciation for their graciousness. Pence, who dropped out of the 2024 Republican nomination race in October, looks forward to his new role in academia and is humbled by the opportunity to interact with students from diverse backgrounds. Overall, Pence’s transition to teaching appears to be off to a positive start at Grove City College.
