Military targets Palestinian militants in West Bank

The Israeli military carried out a major operation in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the deaths of at least nine people in gun battles across Jenin and other cities. Foreign Minister Israel Katz suggested temporarily relocating Palestinians to crush Iran-backed terrorist infrastructures in the region. He accused Iran of trying to establish a front against Israel in the West Bank, similar to Gaza and Lebanon, by financing terrorists and smuggling weapons.

Israeli forces eliminated several armed militants in Jenin and Tulkarm camps and launched Operation Mosk to target terrorists in the Bekaa area. The Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Fatah factions detonated bombs against Israeli military vehicles, leading to heightened tensions. The Palestinian health ministry reported Israeli troops surrounding Jenin’s main hospital.

Israeli Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani stated that the operation was in response to a rise in militant activity and posed an immediate threat to civilians. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas cut short a state visit to Saudi Arabia in response to the IDF operation and warned of dangerous consequences. Abbas’ spokesperson called for urgent international intervention to stop Israel’s “comprehensive war” on the Palestinian people. The situation in the West Bank remains tense, with calls for global action to address the escalating conflict.
