Donald Trump’s transition team filled with well-known figures

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has announced its official “transition team” in preparation for a potential second administration, with Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick as co-chairs. This is a requirement of federal law for major presidential candidates to have transition teams in place before the election to ensure a smooth handoff of power. Vice President Kamala Harris will also appoint a transition team as the Democratic nominee.

Trump’s transition team will focus on implementing an agenda that includes tax cuts, mass deportations of migrants, expanding the U.S. energy industry, and increasing White House control over non-political government employees. The team also includes honorary co-chairs Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance and Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

Harris and her aides have criticized Trump’s authoritarian-style government plans as outlined by “Project 2025,” which include ending abortion rights and reducing healthcare access. They have accused Trump of wanting to use the Justice Department to target political opponents. Following a news conference by the former president, Harris’s campaign spokesperson expressed doubt in Trump’s credibility, stating that “The American people cannot trust a word Donald Trump says.”
