Ronna McDaniel will no longer join NBC News as a contributor after concerns were raised by network employees about her role as a former Republican National Committee chair. Some NBC employees and viewers criticized McDaniel for her attacks on the legitimacy of the 2020 election, as she has alleged without evidence that there were issues with the race for the White House won by President Joe Biden. Concerns about McDaniel’s credibility and professional dealings with the RNC led to her termination as a contributor, with former “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd accusing NBC of giving her credibility that she did not deserve. McDaniel, who was interviewed on “Meet the Press” by host Kristen Welker, has not heard from NBC directly about her termination and found out about it through the media. The decision to end McDaniel’s role as a contributor came after a mutiny by NBC employees and concerns about her appointment undermining the cohesiveness of the news organization.
