A 26-year-old woman was brutally beaten and raped by a man identified as 21-year-old Gregory Williams in the Bronx early Wednesday morning. The victim was walking near a building in Parkchester when Williams approached her and sucker-punched her multiple times before carrying out the assault. The assailant then fled the scene but was later found at a homeless shelter after the incident was caught on video.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition. Williams was arrested and charged with rape, assault, sexual abuse, and harassment. He did not speak to reporters as he was escorted out of the police station in a black sweatshirt and red pajama pants. His arraignment at Bronx criminal court was pending.
