By the end of his term, Trump had fully rolled back approximately 112 environmental rules and weakened others, including those related to greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, and offshore drilling.
On the campaign trail, Trump reiterated his commitment to scaling back restrictions on oil and gas production and bringing back American manufacturing jobs through protectionist trade policies and incentives for companies investing in the US. His campaign slogan “Drill, baby, drill” emphasized his focus on boosting domestic production.
