NBC New York releases the top 18 picks in the 2025 draft order

The Washington Nationals have secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft following the draft lottery at the Winter Meetings in Dallas. This marks the third time in the franchise’s history that they have had the top selection. The Los Angeles Angels received the No. 2 pick, while the Seattle Mariners and St. Louis Cardinals made surprise jumps into the top six.

In terms of prospects, Stillwater High School’s Ethan Holliday is the No. 1 rated player by MLB Pipeline. If chosen, he and his brother Jackson, who was drafted in 2022, would be the first siblings to both go No. 1 overall in the MLB draft. Other notable prospects include Jace LaViolette from Texas A&M and Jamie Arnold from Florida State.

The draft order for the final 12 first-round picks will be based on playoff advancement and revenue-sharing status. The Baltimore Orioles will have the 19th pick, while the Los Angeles Dodgers will hold the 30th selection.

The 2025 MLB Draft is scheduled to take place from July 13-15 in Atlanta. Stay tuned for more updates and analysis as the draft approaches.
