Chef and Food Network star Ina Garten recently addressed the fallout with fellow chef Martha Stewart, clarifying that Stewart’s claim about Garten stopping talking to her after Stewart went to jail in 2004 is not accurate. Garten made this statement during a live Q&A with People, highlighting that their friendship goes back to the ’90s when they met in the Hamptons. Garten started writing a column for Martha Stewart Living, leading to the publication of her first book. Despite their falling out, Garten denied Stewart’s claims that she stopped talking to her when Stewart was imprisoned. Stewart, on the other hand, reiterated her side of the story on various occasions, claiming Garten cut her off when she went to jail.
Stewart was sentenced to prison in 2004 related to charges of conspiracy, obstruction, and lying to federal investigators. Despite this fallout, Stewart maintains that she is not bitter about the situation. Garten, on the other hand, firmly denied Stewart’s version of events, indicating that it was time to let go of events from 25 years ago. While Stewart expressed doubt about a potential reconciliation, she stated that Garten was focused on her own endeavors, and that was okay. This clarification comes after a longstanding dispute between the two celebrity chefs regarding the breakdown of their friendship, with both providing differing accounts of the situation.
