Colleges with the Highest Number of Heisman Trophy Winners in NCAA Football History – NBC New York

The 2024 Heisman Trophy finalists have been announced, including Dillon Gabriel from Oregon, Travis Hunter from Colorado, Ashton Jeanty from Boise State, and Cam Ward from Miami. The winner will be revealed on Dec. 14 in New York City.

Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty could be their first-ever Heisman Trophy winner, while Oregon and Colorado have only had one previous winner each. USC holds the record for the most Heisman winners with eight, including Reggie Bush whose award was reinstated in 2024. Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame follow closely behind with seven recipients each, including back-to-back winner Archie Griffin of Ohio State.

Multiple schools have produced two Heisman winners each, such as Alabama, Army, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Georgia, Miami, Navy, Texas, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and Yale. The College Football Playoff bracket will feature Oregon as the top seed in the 12-team bracket.

With such rich history and prestigious accolades, the Heisman Trophy remains one of the most sought-after awards in college football, and the 2024 winner will join the ranks of football legends who have won in the past.
