Actress Christina Applegate opens up about her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, sharing that she first noticed symptoms in 2019 while filming the pilot for the Netflix series “Dead To Me.” Applegate discussed her experience on her podcast, “Messy,” with co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has MS. She revealed that she initially dismissed her symptoms but was officially diagnosed in 2021 while filming the show’s final season.

Applegate’s close friend and the show’s creator, Liz Feldman, noted the challenges of adapting to Applegate’s changing mobility. Despite retiring from acting, Applegate hasn’t ruled out voiceover work. She candidly shared how MS has impacted her daily life, from excruciating pain to difficulties with mobility, including using a cane. She explained that she struggles with basic tasks like holding her phone or opening bottles due to the condition.

In a recent interview, Applegate expressed that she may never find living with MS to be “awesome,” but she hopes to reach a point where she can function a little better. The actress has received support from her friends and colleagues in Hollywood as she navigates her diagnosis. Despite the challenges, she remains determined to find ways to improve her quality of life while living with MS.
