President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Alina Habba, a member of his legal team, as counselor to the president in his upcoming second term. Habba represented Trump in various lawsuits in 2021, including cases against individuals such as Michael Cohen, Mary L. Trump, and The New York Times. She also served as a spokesperson for Trump and is a managing partner at a law firm in Bedminster, New Jersey. Trump praised Habba for her dedication to justice, loyalty, and resolve. Habba, who holds a law degree from Widener University Commonwealth Law School, delivered a speech at the Republican National Convention earlier this year in support of Trump. Trump highlighted Habba’s background as a first-generation American of Middle Eastern heritage and recognized her as a role model for women in law and politics, naming her Chaldean Woman of the Year. Habba’s appointment as counselor to the president marks her continued involvement with Trump’s administration and highlights her accomplishments as an advocate for justice and defender of the rule of law.
