President-elect Donald Trump expressed uncertainty about whether American families will pay more due to tariffs on some of the country’s top trading partners, despite his campaign promise. He mentioned that tariffs are a tax on imported goods that companies or individuals have to pay when bringing items into the country. Trump has threatened to put tariffs on various countries like Canada, China, and Mexico. In an interview, he also commented on abortion pills, stating he would not restrict access to them at the federal level. Regarding the Jan. 6 rioters, he vowed to pardon them on his first day back in office and start mass deportations of people in the country illegally. He also discussed plans to deport all individuals in the country illegally, ban birthright citizenship, and potentially leave NATO if member countries do not pay their fair share for defense. Trump said he would not order investigations into opponents but believes members of the Jan. 6 committee should go to jail. He expressed confidence in his pick to lead the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, despite facing various allegations and lacking support in the Senate.
