At the Trump transition offices in West Palm Beach, Fla., prospective appointees to high-ranking positions in the Pentagon and intelligence agencies are subjected to a rigorous interview process. These interviews are conducted by a mix of Silicon Valley investors, innovators, and loyal supporters of the Make America Great Again movement. Not only are candidates asked about overhauling the Pentagon and improving intelligence agencies, but questions are also posed to gauge their loyalty to President-elect Donald J. Trump.

Some applicants have reported being asked which candidate they supported in recent elections, their thoughts on the events of Jan. 6, 2021, and whether they believe the 2020 election was stolen. It appears that there was only one acceptable answer to these questions, as those who gave responses contrary to the expected stance were met with silence and ultimately, denial of the job.

Three sources close to the transition team confirmed that loyalty questions were a part of many interviews, and candidates are rated on their competence on a scale of one to four. The Trump team even researched what candidates had said about Mr. Trump during and after the Capitol riot. When questioned about these practices, the incoming White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, simply stated that President Trump will appoint highly qualified individuals who possess the necessary skills to further his agenda.

These revelations shed light on the intense vetting process taking place within the Trump transition team as they prepare to fill key positions in the government. It also raises questions about the role of personal loyalty in the selection process for these critical roles.
