Dana Carvey portrays the character ‘Church Lady’ in the opening sketch of ‘SNL’ on NBC New York.

In a recent episode of “Saturday Night Live,” Dana Carvey reprised his role as the beloved Church Lady character. Instead of his usual President Joe Biden impersonation, Carvey took on the iconic Church Lady persona to comment on the year 2024 as being “the most Satanic year in history.” The Church Lady was joined by Sarah Sherman playing former Rep. Matt Gaetz, poking fun at the real-life scandals surrounding Gaetz’s House Ethics Committee report and allegations of misconduct.

Carvey as Church Lady also welcomed David Spade as Hunter Biden, humorously discussing Hunter’s recent pardon from his father, President Joe Biden. The episode also featured Marcello Hernandez as Juan Soto, a Major League Baseball slugger expected to sign with a new team soon.

The host of the show, Paul Mescal, brought some light-hearted humor to the opening monologue by joking about his lack of comedy experience, showcasing clips of his emotional movie scenes. Musical guest Shaboozy added to the entertainment of the episode.

As always, “Saturday Night Live” delivered a mix of satirical humor and entertaining performances, with Carvey’s Church Lady making a memorable return to the iconic sketch show. Fans of the show were treated to a night of laughter and fun, with the talented cast delivering another successful episode.
