The 102nd National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place on December 5, 2024, on the Ellipse in Washington, DC. The event featured performances by artists such as Muni Long, James Taylor, Mickey Guyton, and Trisha Yearwood. The National Christmas Tree, a 35-foot Red Spruce from the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests in Virginia, was lit by President Joe Biden. Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff were in attendance, along with members of Airmen of Note. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus also made an appearance on stage during the ceremony. The event brought together people to celebrate the holiday season and enjoy music and festivities at the White House.
