Jewish QB Jake Retzlaff from BYU secures NIL partnership with Manischewitz

BYU quarterback Jake Retzlaff, known as the “BYJew,” has signed a NIL sponsorship deal with Manischewitz, making him the first Jewish football player to represent the Jewish food and wine brand. Retzlaff, who has led the No. 18 Cougars to a 10-2 record this season, will star in videos sharing his faith, recipes, and traditions. Growing up with Jewish food like matzo and potato latkes, he now shares these traditions with his teammates at BYU. Limited edition matzo boxes featuring Retzlaff’s likeness will be available through giveaways. In a promo video, Retzlaff is seen running football drills while holding a box of matzo. The quarterback, one of three Jewish students at BYU, has had an impressive season, throwing for 2,745 yards and 19 touchdowns. Manischewitz’s parent company, Kayco, expressed pride in welcoming Retzlaff into the Manischewitz family and supporting his football career and dreams. Shani Seidman, chief marketing officer at Kayco, highlighted that the partnership represents the brand’s goal of celebrating heritage and promoting awareness of Jewish food and excellence. This unique collaboration is about creating connections, celebrating Jewish pride, and bringing together faith and sports in a meaningful way.
