Trevor Lawrence placed on IR with concussion by Jaguars – NBC New York

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been placed on injured reserve due to a concussion, effectively ending his season. Lawrence suffered the injury last Sunday on an illegal hit, leading to a suspension for the player responsible. This season, Lawrence played in 10 games, with 2,045 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

With the Jaguars already eliminated from playoff contention, it’s unlikely Lawrence will see any more action on the field this year. Mac Jones, a former first-round draft pick, will take over as the starting quarterback for the team. Jones has 512 passing yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in five appearances this season.

The Jaguars, who have struggled in recent years, were hoping for a turnaround after winning a playoff game in 2022. However, a late-season collapse in 2023 and disappointment in 2024 have them once again near the top of the draft picks. They have upcoming games against the Tennessee Titans (twice), New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, and Indianapolis Colts to finish out the season.

With Lawrence on the sidelines, fans will have to wait until next season to see if he can lead the Jaguars to a more successful campaign. Despite the setbacks, the team remains hopeful for the future as they continue to develop their young talent.
