The family of missing Hawaii woman Hannah Kobayashi is demanding to see surveillance video showing her crossing into Mexico after the LAPD declared her voluntarily missing. Kobayashi disappeared at LAX on Nov. 8 while traveling from Maui to New York after missing a connecting flight. Police say she retrieved her luggage from LAX before crossing into Mexico near Tijuana on Nov. 12. The LAPD stated there is no evidence of a crime and does not plan to investigate further. The family disagrees with the voluntary missing persons classification and has hired a private investigator to continue searching for her. They are demanding the release of surveillance videos and remain hopeful that Hannah is safe. The family is committed to doing everything possible to bring her home safely. Hannah’s aunt expressed that knowing she crossed the border does not provide the answers needed or ease the heartbreak felt. Hannah’s father was found dead by suicide at LAX last month. Kobayashi is described as a 5-foot-10 woman weighing 140 pounds with brown hair and eyes, fair skin, and freckles. The family urges everyone to continue the search for Hannah as they believe she is still in danger.
