Four-time NBA All-Star Paul Millsap has announced his retirement at the age of 39. Millsap, who was drafted by the Jazz in 2006, played for Utah, the Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers during his career.
Known for his all-around game, Millsap averaged 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game with a 48.9 percent shooting from the field and 34.1 percent from 3-point range. He was a key contributor on each team he played for, eventually becoming an experienced leader.
Millsap spent seven seasons with the Jazz, where he established himself as a reliable player. His best season came in 2010-11 when he averaged 17.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
After being traded to the Hawks in 2013, Millsap found his stride and earned All-Star honors four times during his time in Atlanta. His best season with the Hawks came in 2016-17 when he averaged 18.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
In 2017, Millsap signed with the Nuggets and played a key role in Denver’s postseason run to the Western Conference Finals in the NBA Bubble in 2020. Throughout his career, Millsap was known for his versatility, leadership, and work ethic on and off the court.
With his retirement, Millsap leaves behind a lasting legacy in the NBA as a respected and talented player who made a significant impact on every team he played for.
