Naresh Bhatt accused of wife’s murder despite missing body

Naresh Bhatt, a man from Virginia, has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder and physically defiling a dead body in connection to the disappearance of his wife, Mamta Kafle Bhatt. Mamta, a 28-year-old nurse and mother, vanished on July 31 in Manassas Park, located near Washington, D.C. Naresh was initially arrested on a charge of concealment of a dead body weeks after his wife’s disappearance. Police believe Mamta was killed between July 29th and July 30th, with forensic evidence indicating she was killed in their home, dismembered, and her DNA was found in the bedroom and bathroom.

No body has been found, but Naresh has been identified as the primary suspect in the case. Despite no previous reports of domestic violence, a motive for the killing remains under investigation. Naresh reported his wife missing on August 5, and police were alerted to the situation when Mamta’s colleagues raised concerns. The couple has a 1-year-old daughter together, and friends and family have not heard from Mamta since she disappeared.

Naresh Bhatt is currently in jail without bond, awaiting a court date. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Manassas police. The case remains under investigation, and a possible motive for the murder has not been determined.
