DeMarvion Overshown’s pick-6 and Rico Dowdle’s first career 100-yard game helped the Dallas Cowboys secure a Thanksgiving Day victory over the New York Giants. The win comes as the Cowboys look to make a playoff push without Dak Prescott, who is out with an injury. The Cowboys have consecutive victories after a five-game losing streak but have more work to do to secure a postseason spot.
Cooper Rush threw a touchdown pass while Dowdle rushed for 112 yards in the win. The Giants, led by Drew Lock, suffered their seventh consecutive loss as they struggle to find success in the NFC East.
Overshown’s interception and subsequent touchdown turned the tide for the Cowboys, who had been trailing for much of the game. Rush’s performance as a replacement for Prescott has been solid, with the quarterback now 2-2 as a starter this season.
Despite the win, both teams suffered injuries during the game. The Giants lost standout DT Dexter Lawrence to a dislocated elbow while the Cowboys saw multiple players leave the game with various injuries.
Looking ahead, the Giants will face off against New Orleans at home on December 8, while the Cowboys will host Cincinnati on December 9. Both teams will look to bounce back from their respective losses and continue their pursuit of success in the NFL.
