Midwest and Northeast bracing for heavy snowfall

A winter storm is set to bring snow to parts of the Midwest and Northeast this Thanksgiving, causing travel disruptions and dangerous road conditions. The storm will also bring frigid temperatures, with wind chills dropping below zero in some areas, including the Dakotas and northern Plains. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City was affected by rain, while other parts of the country saw snowfall. The cold weather is expected to impact around 196 million people, with below freezing temperatures and the risk of hypothermia and frostbite. Some areas, including the Midwest and Northeast, may see temperatures stay below freezing for an extended period. Ski resorts in western New York are expected to benefit from the snow, with good powder expected for the opening day of the holiday season. The storm could bring up to 3 inches of snow per hour on major highways in the Great Lakes region, posing risks for drivers. The snow is also expected to continue in California and Colorado, causing road closures and flight delays. The Arctic chill is predicted to linger into early December in some parts of the country, with temperatures remaining below normal.
