Louisiana talent will be on display at the upcoming Super Bowl pregame show on Feb. 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, Lauren Daigle, and Ledisi, all Louisiana natives, are scheduled to perform the national anthem, “America the Beautiful,” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” The halftime show, featuring Kendrick Lamar, will be co-executive produced by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins. Batiste, a Grammy and Oscar winner, has an upcoming documentary and released an album reimagining Beethoven’s work. Trombone Shorty is known for his unique music style and has toured with major acts, while Daigle is a Grammy-winning contemporary Christian singer. Ledisi, who won a Grammy for her single “Anything for You,” has also appeared in various films.
The pregame performances will be aired on Fox, with actor Stephanie Nogueras performing in American Sign Language. Otis Jones IV and Matt Maxey will also sign during the pregame show and halftime show, respectively. The combination of musical talent and Louisiana heritage at the pregame show promises a memorable start to the Super Bowl festivities.
