Rocker Marilyn Manson has agreed to drop a lawsuit against his former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood and pay her attorneys’ fees, bringing an end to a legal battle that began in 2022. Manson had sued Wood over allegations that she fabricated claims of abuse against him. However, Manson’s attorney Howard King stated that Manson is pleased to dismiss the claims and close this chapter of his life. Manson will also pay nearly $327,000 in attorney fees for Wood. This settlement comes amidst a criminal investigation involving multiple women accusing Manson of abuse, with the decision on potential charges pending.
Wood, known for her role in “Westworld,” rejected requests to keep the settlement terms confidential and her attorney, Michael J. Kump, called Manson’s lawsuit a publicity stunt to undermine his accusers. Manson has denied all non-consensual sexual acts, despite several women coming forward with allegations. Among those involved is “Game of Thrones” actor Esme Bianco, who reached her own settlement with Manson last year.
The lawsuit also involved allegations of defamation and emotional distress, with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Teresa Beaudet dismissing parts related to a forged FBI letter and a checklist for abuse claims. Another woman named in the suit, Ashley Gore, also reached an agreement with Manson to dismiss the case. The settlement marks the end of a contentious legal battle that has been ongoing for years, with Manson’s former fiancée among the accusers who have come forward publicly.
