Man arrested for assaulting Paul Bissonnette found with fake military identification

Former hockey tough guy and NHL podcaster Paul Bissonnette was allegedly assaulted by Sean M. Daley and five other men at a Scottsdale, Arizona restaurant. Daley was found with a fraudulent military ID upon his arrest, leading to felony charges of aggravated assault and forgery. Bissonnette, known for co-hosting the ‘Spittin’ Chiclets’ podcast, explained the altercation in a social media video and podcast episode. The incident occurred when Bissonnette intervened to defend restaurant staff against a group of intoxicated individuals. The altercation started inside the restaurant before moving to the parking lot, where Daley allegedly held Bissonnette down and kicked him. Daley appeared in court and was ordered to stay away from the scene of the incident and not have contact with the victim or witnesses. Despite being released on his recognizance, Daley faced criticism from the judge for his lackluster commitment to returning from Texas for future court dates. Daley is scheduled for a status conference hearing on Dec. 10 and a preliminary hearing on Dec. 12. The details of the assault and the discovery of the fake military ID have garnered attention in the media, shedding light on the seriousness of the incident involving Bissonnette.
