In a recent ceremony hosted by Schneps Media, 50 iconic women were honored as the Power Women of the Bronx. The event celebrated women from various industries for their leadership and contributions to the community. Franchesca Diaz, Director of Regional and Community Affairs for the Bronx at Con Edison, was recognized for her work in keeping the borough connected during a period of economic growth. The event also raised funds for the local nonprofit Not On My Watch Inc., which empowers young women and combats human trafficking and domestic violence.
Attendees enjoyed a VIP reception, cocktail hour, and awards ceremony, with Mistress of Ceremonies Noëlle Lilley presenting each honoree with a gold trophy. Honorees included leaders in politics, education, finance, and community development such as April Cardena, Dr. Diane Recinos, and Angely Orbe.
The evening highlighted the importance of women supporting one another, with participants sharing their stories of perseverance and empowerment. The event was sponsored by organizations such as Con Edison, Ponce Bank, and the Bronx Economic Development Corp.
