The New York Yankees will not have to face Shohei Ohtani on the mound in the 2024 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, as manager Dave Roberts has confirmed that Ohtani will not pitch. Ohtani’s last appearance as a pitcher was in August 2023 before undergoing Tommy John surgery for a UCL tear in his right elbow. The two-way superstar is expected to return to pitching in 2025.

The series kicks off on Friday, Oct. 25 at Dodger Stadium, with the first pitch scheduled for 8:08 p.m. ET/5:08 p.m. PT.
All World Series games will be broadcast on Fox and can also be streamed on FoxSports.com and the Fox Sports app. The showdown between the Yankees and Dodgers is highly anticipated and will be closely watched by fans across the country.
