Jamie Busch, NY school employee, accused of killing sister

In upstate New York, a tragic incident has unfolded where a middle school paraprofessional, Jamie Busch, has been charged with the murder of her sister, Penny Busch. Penny, a 62-year-old mother of two, was reported missing and her body was later found in the Genesee River after a three-day search. The incident was sparked by a routine welfare check that raised suspicions among deputies, leading to a full-scale manhunt.

Investigators have determined that Jamie Busch allegedly strangled her sister and disposed of her body in the river, while also hiding her phones in a dumpster. The motive and cause of death have not been disclosed by authorities. Jamie has been charged with second-degree murder and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. She is currently in police custody at the Monroe County Jail.

The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District, where Jamie worked, has expressed shock and sadness at the news. Superintendent Gene Mancuso stated that they had never encountered such a situation in their district before, but are confident that the community will come together to support one another during this difficult time.

Penny Busch, originally from Schenectady, recently moved to Monroe County and was described by police as a loving mother and sister. She leaves behind two children and a devastated family. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has commended their deputies for their determination in solving the case and apprehending Jamie Busch for her sister’s murder.
