Max Verstappen broke his dry spell by winning the U.S. Grand Prix sprint in Austin, ending nearly four months without a victory. The Red Bull driver’s confidence was boosted by the win after not winning any of the last nine Formula 1 races. Verstappen managed to keep Lando Norris of McLaren behind him for 18 of the 19 sprint laps at the Circuit of the Americas. The Dutch driver is aiming for his fourth consecutive title and secured pole position for the sprint race ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz. Sainz took advantage of a mistake by Norris on the final lap to secure second place.
The U.S. Grand Prix marked Formula 1’s return from a four-week autumn break, with the next race in the U.S. scheduled for November 2024 in Las Vegas. The sprint race results saw Verstappen take the top spot, followed by Sainz in second and Norris in third. The race showcased Red Bull’s good pace and gave Verstappen a much-needed win. The victory bodes well for the rest of Verstappen’s weekend as he looks to continue his winning streak. Formula 1 fans can look forward to more exciting races as the season progresses.
