Jets and Haason Reddick reach agreement on restructured contract, ending holdout

Haason Reddick has reached an agreement with the New York Jets on an adjusted contract, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. This deal will offset the more than $12 million in fines Reddick accrued during his holdout. The restructured contract will also allow Reddick to report to the team on Monday morning, with discussions ongoing for a potential long-term deal.

Reddick, who finished fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2022 and earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2023, was seeking a new contract in line with the top pass rushers in the NFL. The Eagles traded him to the Jets in March after declining to negotiate a new contract.

The Jets needed Reddick after losing key defensive players and his arrival comes at a critical time with the team struggling at 2-4. While his elite pass-rushing skills will be a welcome addition, the team still faces challenges in stopping the run.

Reddick’s holdout and trade request had caused tensions, leading to his former agent dropping him as a client. However, Rosenhaus was able to facilitate a resolution with the Jets, allowing Reddick to finally join the team.

Now, as the Jets prepare to face the Pittsburgh Steelers, they hope Reddick’s presence will provide a boost as they aim to turn their season around. With his talent and experience, Reddick could be a key player in helping the Jets improve their performance on the field.
