Michael DiGiorgio, a 50-year-old man from Los Angeles County, is facing more than a dozen felony charges for drugging and sexually assaulting nine women and allegedly causing the death of one victim due to an overdose of drugs. The assaults occurred between May 2019 and November 2021 at DiGiorgio’s homes in Redondo and Hermosa Beach. Charges against him include murder, forcible rape, and other sexual assault offenses, with the possibility of life in prison if convicted on all counts. Prosecutors have also filed a special allegation for causing great bodily injury during the furnishing of a controlled substance.
DiGiorgio was scheduled for arraignment in downtown Los Angeles, with no information yet released on his plea. The LA County District Attorney’s Office has encouraged anyone with information related to the case or other incidents involving DiGiorgio to come forward to the Redondo Beach Police Department. Authorities believe there may be more victims, as a photo of DiGiorgio has been released to aid in identification.
The Sex Crimes Division of the DA’s office and Redondo Beach Police Department are jointly investigating the case, with a hotline available for potential victims or witnesses to contact. District Attorney George Gascón expressed sympathy for the victims and emphasized the importance of reporting any information related to the alleged crimes.
