Former One Direction member Liam Payne passed away at age 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. The autopsy report revealed that he died of polytrauma and internal and external bleeding. The report also mentioned a history of alcohol and drug consumption by the singer, who had previously struggled with addiction.
The injuries sustained by Payne were described as compatible with those from a fall from height, with his brain and skull injuries being particularly severe. The release from the prosecutor’s office indicated that Payne was likely alone when he fell and that there were no defensive injuries on his hands.
The ongoing investigation is aimed at determining the involvement of third parties in the events leading up to Payne’s death. Witnesses have been interviewed, and further studies are being conducted to determine the presence of alcohol or drugs in his system at the time of the incident.
Simon Cowell, who played a role in creating One Direction, paid tribute to the late singer on Instagram. Polytrauma, the condition characterized by multiple injuries, was cited as the cause of Payne’s death. Authorities had responded to a 911 call from the hotel before Payne’s death, reporting a guest behaving aggressively due to drug and alcohol consumption. Payne died at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
