A homeless man jumped from a second-floor balcony inside Trump Tower to evade police, causing injuries to himself on Thursday. The incident occurred on the second floor of the Fifth Avenue residential skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan around 4:20 p.m. According to a Trump Tower employee, the man was causing a disturbance when police approached him.
The man jumped from the balcony to the lobby below as officers were leading him out of the building. Despite falling approximately 30 feet, the man remained conscious after the fall. He was taken to NY Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition for treatment of head injuries.
Following the incident, a motorcade carrying former President Donald Trump was seen entering the condo tower about an hour later. The man’s actions were described by a law enforcement source as sudden and without any warning. The source added that the man appeared to be acting irrationally.
