Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was recently arrested on DUI and other charges after rear-ending another driver in Franklin, Tennessee. According to the arrest affidavit, Cutler offered the driver $2,000 not to call the police and attempted to flee the scene before officers arrived. Police noticed signs of alcohol intoxication on Cutler, who refused field sobriety tests and was taken to a hospital for a blood sample. Additionally, a loaded pistol and rifle were found in his vehicle.
Cutler, 41, was booked in the Williamson County Jail and given a $5,000 bond before being released later in the evening. The former Chicago Bears player spent 12 seasons in the NFL before retiring, with his marriage to reality TV star Kristin Cavallari ending in divorce in 2020. The couple shares three children.
In a surprising revelation, Cutler disclosed in 2021 that he was experiencing symptoms associated with Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a neurological condition commonly found in athletes who have had repetitive brain trauma. Following this incident, Cutler’s personal and legal matters have made headlines as he navigates the aftermath of his arrest.
