Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have purchased a new home in Portugal. The royal couple recently acquired a property in the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, a luxury development in the small town of Melides. This move comes after they were asked to vacate Frogmore Cottage in the UK. The purchase of a home in Portugal may allow them to acquire a “Golden Visa,” granting them visa-free access to the European Union’s Schengen area. The couple visited CostaTerra last year and are reportedly close with Princess Eugenie and her husband, who also own a property in the same area. It is not clear if their new home is within the CostaTerra confines. Frogmore Cottage was gifted to Harry and Meghan by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present, and after leaving it in 2020, the lease was taken over by Princess Eugenie and her husband. The Sussexes’ move to Portugal comes after the release of Prince Harry’s memoir, which detailed royal drama and led to their ouster from Frogmore. The couple has not publicly commented on their new home purchase.
