The US military has conducted precision strikes against five hardened underground weapons storage locations in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen using B-2 stealth bombers, according to the Pentagon. In another development, the mayor of Nabatieh in Lebanon was killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit the city’s municipal headquarters during a meeting to coordinate aid deliveries to residents and displaced individuals. This incident is part of a series of strikes by Israel on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. There have been reports of Israeli forces targeting the Jazalone refugee camp in the West Bank and the risk of cholera spreading in Lebanon due to the conflict with Hezbollah.
The US is pressuring Israel to allow more aid into northern Gaza, demanding proof that Israel does not have a policy of starvation in the area. Meanwhile, Qatar’s prime minister stated that there have been no conversations about a Gaza ceasefire in the last few weeks. The situation remains tense in the region, with ongoing attacks and responses between Israel and Hezbollah. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, urging Israel to improve Gaza’s humanitarian situation.
