Tyra Banks made a triumphant return to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15, closing out the show in a black bustier with crystal embellishments. The 50-year-old supermodel, who retired from modeling in 2005, showcased her signature smize as she sashayed down the runway. Banks, known as one of the “OG” Victoria’s Secret Angels, walked in nine shows during her modeling career with the brand.
In a recent interview, Banks reflected on her decision to retire in order to focus on her talk show and business ventures. She now feels that the world has evolved to appreciate women in a variety of roles and not as stereotypes. She is excited to see how the fashion world has embraced diversity in terms of body shapes and sizes.
Banks expressed her gratitude for being able to come back to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and celebrate her full self, without feeling the need to conform to a certain mold. She sees it as a continuation of beauty and diversity in the fashion industry, and is happy to be a part of it. Amidst the changing landscape of the fashion world, Banks believes that women no longer have to fit into a specific stereotype and can be celebrated for their individuality.
