A year after being displaced by relentless Israeli bombing in Gaza, three women living in a refugee camp near Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el-Balah still hold on to the key to their homes. Abeer al-Salibi, 37, dreams of returning to her modest house with a small garden in al-Karama, while 20-year-old Wafaa Sharaf yearns to go back to the small apartment she shared with her husband before the war forced them to flee. Hiba al-Hindawi, 29, regrets leaving her home and wishes she had taken more precious items with her before fleeing. Despite the hardships they face living in a crowded displacement camp, these women hold on to hope for a better future and long for peace in their homeland. They dream of rebuilding their homes and creating a sense of normalcy for their families amidst the ongoing conflict and devastation. As they continue to endure the horrors of war, they hope for a resolution to the conflict that has uprooted their lives. Through their stories, these women reflect the resilience and strength of the Palestinian people in the face of adversity, holding on to the hope of one day returning home.
