Richard Simmons’ Sibling Discloses that Icon was Laid to Rest in Exercise Attire

Fitness icon Richard Simmons was recently celebrated at a memorial service where it was revealed that he was buried in his signature tank top and shorts outfit underneath his regular clothes. Simmons, who passed away in July at the age of 76, was known for his energetic aerobics workouts and positive attitude towards fitness. His brother, Lenny, shared this secret with attendees, explaining that they wanted to make sure Richard would be in his normal costume to help the saints and angels get into shape.
Simmons gained fame in the 1970s with his “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” workouts and his own fitness studio Slimmons, which closed in 2016. His cause of death was confirmed as accidental due to complications from recent falls and heart disease. The memorial service came amidst a family battle over his estate with his housekeeper, Teresa Reveles, who had petitioned to be restored as a co-trustee and prevent Lenny from using Richard’s likeness for personal profit.
Known for his joy and positivity, Richard Simmons was beloved by many in Hollywood and beyond for his weight-loss programs and fitness videos. His last post on Facebook, just one day before his death, expressed gratitude for the birthday messages he had received. Simmons’ legacy as a fitness icon continues to be honored by those who remember him for his enthusiastic approach to health and wellness.
