A unique California villa, located on the seafront, is now on the market for wine lovers. The isolated property, nicknamed the “Barrel House,” features three bedrooms and was handcrafted from two giant wine barrels interconnected. Built in 1980 by legendary local architect Mickey Meunnig, the Barrel House has been owned by the same person for 40 years and is now publicly listed for sale for $3.265 million.

To reach the secluded residence, the new owner will have to descend Sycamore Canyon Road towards Pfeiffer Beach and then turn towards the exclusive closed area at Pfeiffer Point, leading to a private road through the idyllic forest of Big Sur. The villa, covering 180 square meters, sits on 5 acres of land with views of the Pacific Ocean.

The spectacular house features an open-plan kitchen, a living room, and windows with ocean views on the first floor, along with the master bedroom with a private bathroom, a second bedroom, and a surrounding deck. The south wing includes a second living space with vaulted ceilings, a staircase leading to a loft area with a fireplace, and rustic furniture and decorations throughout.

Adjacent to a flower garden on a nearby hill, a guest cabin made from another Sequoia tree barrel offers a bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a terrace, and an outdoor dining area with ocean views. The property also provides access to hiking trails leading to a private beach under Pfeiffer Point. Ideal for wine enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, this unique Barrel House offers a luxurious and secluded retreat in the scenic landscapes of Big Sur.
