Donald Glover, known for his music as Childish Gambino, has announced that he is canceling the remaining dates of his tour due to health issues. The musician revealed that he had to go to the hospital after a show in New Orleans and will now need surgery for an undisclosed condition. As a result, he has decided to cancel the North American tour as well as the dates in the UK and Europe.
Fans who purchased tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Glover expressed his disappointment in not being able to perform for his fans and thanked them for their love and support during this time. This decision comes after Glover had previously postponed his concerts last month for health reasons but had planned to reschedule the dates.
Glover kicked off the New World Tour earlier this year as a farewell to his rap persona, announcing his retirement from Childish Gambino in a July interview. He mentioned that becoming a father played a role in his decision to retire, as he finds deep joy in spending time with his children. Despite the disappointment of canceling the tour, Glover remains focused on his recovery and healing.
