The popular Mets fan organization, The 7 Line, is expanding its reach by hosting a 7k race to raise money for the Amazin Mets Foundation. Founder Darren Meenan was inspired by his love of running and the Mets to create the race, which will take place on September 22 in Flushing Meadows Park and end at Citi Field. The race will feature a unique element called the Mookie Mile, where runners will compete for a Mookie Wilson jersey. Proceeds from the race will support the Amazin Mets Foundation, led by Alex Cohen, the wife of Mets owner Steve Cohen. The event will also feature appearances by Mr. Met and members of the foundation. Following the race, participants will tailgate outside Citi Field before watching the Mets take on the Phillies in their final home game of the regular season. Originally scheduled for July, the race was moved to September due to weather, allowing for a longer tailgate experience. The 7 Line has been a staple of the Mets fan experience since 2009, with its signature orange shirts and chants. To learn more about the 7 Line and the Mets, visit AMNY.com.
