Royal enthusiasts will finally have the opportunity to experience a viral Prince Louis moment with the launch of guided tours of Buckingham Palace’s east wing. This includes access to the balcony room where the royal family traditionally waves to the public during special events. The East Wing Highlights Tours, running from July 15 to August 31, will showcase the principal rooms of the wing, such as the Centre Room leading to the balcony, which was first used by Queen Victoria. Unfortunately, visitors will not be permitted on the balcony itself.
Highlights of the balcony room include a newly restored glass chandelier and Chinese imperial silk wall hangings dating back to Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. The tour will also feature the wing’s principal corridor with paintings by renowned artists. With over 3,000 artifacts from the Royal Collection, visitors will have plenty to explore during the 45-minute excursion.
The east wing’s principal floor will be open to the public after extensive renovations lasting over five years. The palace’s 10-year plan to update its infrastructure, including electrical cabling and plumbing, will be showcased to visitors. Limited to 20 spots per tour and priced at $95 per adult, the East Wing Highlights Tours offer a unique opportunity to step into the world of the royal family, making it a must-see attraction for royal fans and history enthusiasts alike.
