An 11-month-old dog named Daisy got her head stuck in a tire rim in southern New Jersey, prompting her owners to call the Franklinville Fire Department for help. Despite attempts to free her using soap and water, Daisy was in distress and firefighters had to act fast. Lieutenant Brandon Volpe eventually used his personal plasma cutters to free Daisy from the rim, and she was unharmed in the incident. This experience led Daisy’s owner to join the volunteer fire department in hopes of helping others in similar situations. The rescue was a reminder of the cliche about cats and curiosity, but in this case, it was a dog’s nose getting her into trouble. Daisy’s misadventure ultimately had a happy ending thanks to the quick thinking and actions of the firefighters, and serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of staying out of potentially dangerous situations.
