Following Super Tuesday, the next major event on the political calendar is President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address to the joint session of Congress. Expected to cover domestic and international issues, Biden aims to address criticisms of his age and frame the upcoming election as a choice between himself and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. Both Biden and Trump scored big wins on Super Tuesday, setting the stage for a potential rematch of the 2020 election. Trump defeated Nikki Haley in multiple states, while Biden emerged victorious against his Democratic challengers.
The State of the Union address will be broadcast on ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX on network TV, as well as CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, and NewsNation on cable. The address can also be streamed on the USA TODAY YouTube channel and on smart televisions. The address is scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET. In addition to addressing key issues, Biden will aim to set the tone for his second term in office and appeal to voters as he faces off against Trump in the upcoming election.
