Malnourished Dogs and Cats Discovered Locked in Disgusting Conditions in Filthy NYC Home

A heartbreaking story has unfolded in Queens, where 11 dogs and two cats were rescued from a home in Rockaways. The animals were found in deplorable conditions, showing signs of neglect and malnourishment. Police suspect that the animals may have been stolen, as part of a pattern involving five separate incidents of grand larceny. One of the dogs was confirmed stolen in East New York and Cypress Hills.

The NYPD released photos of the animals, including two dogs with visible rib cages, in an effort to locate their owners. Among the disturbing conditions in the home, heroin, fentanyl, stolen tools, and DJ equipment were also found. Cory Elder, the 43-year-old homeowner, was arrested and now faces multiple charges including criminal possession of a controlled substance and neglecting the animals.

The animals have been taken to the ASPCA for evaluations, as many were underweight, dehydrated, and in need of medical care. The organization’s veterinary and behavior experts are providing them with the necessary treatment. The NYPD hopes to reunite the animals with their rightful owners and bring justice to those responsible for their suffering.

This story highlights the importance of responsible pet ownership and the consequences of neglect and abuse. The community is urged to come forward with any information that may help in solving this case and bringing justice for these innocent animals.
